Forefront
Curriculum Seminars-We
Come to You!
Looking
for a cutting-edge technology seminar
to motivate your teaching staff? Sarah DiRuscio can help!
Sarah
DiRuscio is a pioneer who specializes in helping teachers effectively
integrate technology into their daily curriculum. Her practical strategies
are highly motivating and can be immediately applied into any classroom.
Over 50,000 teachers have appalled Sarah's unique ability to
inspire and communicate, making her one of the most sought-after presenters
for technology based workshops in the country. She
knows firsthand how to develop a motivating
and collaborative learning seminar that engages and motivates teachers.
As
a technology integration veteran who has successfully used the
Net in her own classrooms, Sarah has extensive face-to-face professional
development experience by presenting with the nation's top organizations
such as: Classroom Connect, Bureau of Education and Research (BER),
Marco Polo, NASA, US Dept of Ed, Sacramento State, and more. Through
her hands-on instruction, she is ready to guide your teachers through
the process of effectively
using technology and integrating it into their classrooms. Sarah is
available to come to your school site and conduct seminars
tailored to meet your specific curricular needs! (She also specialize
in NCLB technology training!) Click here for
Sarah DiRuscio's Resume.
Scheduling
Sarah DiRuscio or any staff member from Forefront Curriculum would love
to provide customized technology training for your school, district or
organization. If you would like additional information or a phone call,
simply contact Forefront Curriculum via email,
or by phone 530-888-7944 or fax 530-888-7945. We are scheduling seminars
for the 2006 school year, so let us know if you have a specific date in
mind. Click here to see our Technology Training
Calendar for availability.
Fees
We
don't publish our fees on the web, but we're happy to discuss them on
the phone and send you a proposal. We typically charge a flat-rate speaking
fee plus minimal travel expenses (airline, rental car and hotel) and handbook
costs. We recognize that educators don't have lots of money, so we try
to keep costs down. We want to keep our clients happy, so we work together
to develop the best seminars to meet your specific needs!
Formats
We provide a variety of formats including keynote addresses, small and
large group presentations, as well as workshops with and without "hands-on"
technology time. We love to meet with the administrators, technology committee
members, and parents to provide consulting advice. For example, I have
conducted a "technology curriculum" seminar for the entire staff
in the morning, met with the technology committee for lunch, and then
provided a hands-on workshop in the afternoon. Sarah's goal is to work
with you and to develop a customized program that meets your specific
needs.
The most popular seminar is titled "Making Best Use of the Internet
to Enhance Classroom Curriculum-What's New" by Sarah DiRuscio. This
seminar is a single-day staff development experience that will help your
teachers have a significant impact on student achievement. The workshop
is designed to help teachers investigate the latest educational web sites,
develop hands-on lesson plans, and make the most of the Net. It will be
presented to specific groups of teachers that correspond with your various
curricular areas such as: humanities/social sciences/English or science/
math/ technology. We can also divide the groups into grade levels such
as K-2nd grade & 3-6th grade. Each participant will receive a comprehensive
200 page book with practical tools and resources they can use the next
day in class. (See sample handouts from Sarah's technology seminars)

Technology
Needs
Because equipment available at schools vary greatly, we bring our own
technology to you. We generally use Microsoft PowerPoint and Internet
browsers on our own laptops when conducting seminars. All of the Internet
resources we use are pre- downloaded, so a live Internet connection is
never needed. This allows us the flexibility to conduct seminars in a
variety of locations from the multipurpose room (MPR) to classroom or
cafeteria. We would like for you to provide a computer projector, screen
for projection and a sound system with microphone. This setup will be
used for both lecture seminars as well as hands-on workshops.
Seminar
Handbooks
Every educator attending the Forefront Curriculum seminars will receive
a seminar handbook filled with lesson plans, worksheets, curriculum standards,
web sites and more. These "Enhancing Classroom Curriculum with the
Net" books are customized to meet the specific needs of the educators
attending the seminars. The books are also available for purchase at our
online bookstore.
